Portuguese man of war, scientifically known as Physalia physalis, washed up on Cape Canaveral National seashore; wrapped in seaweed. Taken on May 20, 2007, props to Jon A. Leto. As a penisula, Florida is outlined with beaches: the good, the bad and the littered. Native floridians know to stay away from tourist frequented sandboxes. My favorites include Cape Canaveral’s Nation seashore when in Central Florida. Though it costs $3/person the beautifully kept, and clean, beaches are worth the price. And for those adventerous enough, if you go to the last parking lot, that last stretch of sand and sea are nudity tolerant: Playa Linda. Three simple rules for the locally lawed nude beach; no drugs, no f**king, and don’t go past the last sign. Though clearly marked with “Do not pass without proper licenseship”, if you happen to tred past in your naked sun dilerium, a fellow nudist will kindly inform you of the rules.

Jacksonville Beach and my mom’s dog, Isabelle. Sand, sea and blue skys, it don’t get much betta than this!
The beaches of Jacksonville are a favorite of mine; not only because Jacksonville Beach is home. Atlantic Beach,a residential secluded beach, offers clean sand with a limited number of people. The sand that stretches between Ponte Vedre and St. Augustine off of A1A has a red/orange color and is right across from the Guana State Park.

Black vultures, Coragyps atratus, perch about at Manatee Springs State Park. Florida activities extend well beyond beach time play. At the Manatee Springs State Park, a raised boardwalk trail weaves through cypress and palm trees. The crystal clear water is great for a swim.
